Today I had a visit from what I suppose was a volunteer from the Barrack Obama campaign ( he had a DNC tshirt on), trying to get my support or signature for Barrack Obama and other democratic candidates. I did not wish to lie to the man, start an argument or keep quiet. I politely told him that I have one major problem with Mr. Obama. I said that his record and position on life issues would keep me from supporting him. The man initially gave me a blank stare and I returned the favor because the evening sun was blinding me at that point. He eventually said he understood and thanked me for my time. Being confrontational was not the proper way to deal with the issue. Hopefully, if more people would let the democratic party know that life issues are incredibly important, they might finally get the message. I know that it is a pipe dream, but it has to start somewhere.
Personally, I have decided that whenever I am approached by representatives of the the candidates, that I will not hide my views on the subject. If one doesn’t say anything, one can’t expect change. Let your voice be heard, whether it is by the democrat or republican candidates.
