Clement of Rome was third successor of Peter as Bishop of Rome. The First Epistle of Clement to the Corinthians was written to the Corinthian Church because they unlawfully overthrew the appointed leadership of their Church. This is the first non Biblical example of the Bishop of Rome lovingly and authoritatively shepherding another Christian Church.
